5. Lowers Risk of Depression

Sleep lowers risk of depression. Johns Hopkins sleep researcher, Patrick H. Finan, says that insufficient sleep creates emotional imbalances that increase your chances of developing depression. Depression is also correlated with chronic sleep problems. Either can cause the other. A study conducted by Dr. Triantafillou and colleagues shows that good sleep quality has a positive effect on mood.
